To start, I need to put May 2019 in context. I had been running for 9 months by this point and gradually building up my distance and confidence. I had already earned myself a few medals at events of varying sizes but May was the month that would either make or break me.
Needless to say, my race diary was full to the brim (something which is not uncommon these days). The MK Rocket Run, MK marathon Relay, Great Manchester Run, Runthrough Mercedes World 10km and Runthrough Chase The Sun Wimbledon 10km – Not to mention trying to complete 50 miles for #milesformind (Raising awareness of mental health). One thing was for sure; It was going to be a busy month.
Excited and nervous, I knew it was a chance to enjoy my running and use the motivation to achieve some great things.
I’m pleased to say, not only did I manage to successfully complete all my events, I even managed to rack up a new 5km PB, 10km PB and Half Marathon PB (admittedly it was my first – does that count?)
A huge thank you to everyone who supported me along the way and helped me achieve my goals. June has far less medals but is my time to step up my training for Berlin and put in the hard work.
